Things to know before the exam

Lunchtime/Period 5 (1:40pm) - arrive ON TIME
Exam preparation time: 20 minutes
Exam period: 2:00pm-5:00pm
Before the exam:
• Ensure that you arrive outside E4 on time at the start of period 4. Once you have been welcomed into the room there is to be no talking or communication of any kind between students.
• Students sitting AS91909 (Reflection assessment) are allowed to use 3 screenshots from their website in their written exam, however, these must be made prior to the examination day and provided to Mr Tyler/Mr Sutherland so that they can put them into your account. Per NZQA rules, you are not allowed to make additional screenshots during the exam.
Rules during the exam/in the exam room:
• Listen carefully and follow all instructions.
• You will be given a test account with a log in, you will need to make sure that you can log in AND that you have the correct exam files, as well as your screenshots file (if you are doing the reflection exam).
• Per the sheet of paper that you have been given, you may rename the file (as stated on the paper). Do not rename the header until you have been told that you can start.
• Any and all electronic devices that can send/receive and store data are prohibited in this exam. This includes but is not limited to: phones, laptops, smart watches, headphones. These must be switched off and in your bag at the front of the class.
• You must not have any unauthorised material such as notes, either digital or paper or books with you or in any pocket
• If you have any unauthorised material with you such as written notes, blank or refill paper, books, phone, calculator - hand these to the supervisor. Turn off watch alarms.
• No material authored or sourced from AI is to be used in your digital technology common assessment task.
• Do not talk to or communicate in any way with anyone except the supervisor(s). If you need anything or have a question raise your hand. Supervisors cannot answer any questions about what is in the assessment.
• You must only look at your own screen.
• If you have an emergency such as feeling ill or needing the toilet, put your hand up.
• The assessment is one three-hour period total. No one can leave the room without permission. No one can leave before 3pm. You will be advised when there are 15 minutes left. The official time is taken from the clock at the front of the class.
Finishing the exam:
• Follow the instructions on your sheet of paper.
• If you finish early, save your work, remain seated and raise your hand. You will be allowed to leave if it is in the allowed leaving timeframe. Remain silent until you are out of earshot of the exam room.
• By saving your response at the end of this assessment, you are verifying that this work is your own.
• NZQA may digitally sample your work to test authenticity.
• Only work keyed directly by you into your computer or device during the assessment session may be used by you to complete your assessment response.
• You are not permitted to talk about the assessment or share the assessment with anybody from any other school until after the 30th of October.
